Collected Wisdom for August 9

by Hilary Gauntt on August 6, 2015

The trouble is, you think you have time.      Buddha

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by it’s ability to climb a tree, it will live it’s whole life believing that it is stupid.    Albert Einstein

The best people possess a feeling for beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice. Ironically, their virtues make them vulnerable. They are often wounded, sometimes destroyed.                         Ernest Hemingway

The problem is not the problem; the problem is your attitude about the problem.   Captain Jack Sparrow

You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should’ve behaved better.    Annie Lamott

It has been said “time heals all wounds”. I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting it’s sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.        Rose Kennedy

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones that you did do.

So throw off the bowlines.

Sail away from the safe harbor.

Catch the trade winds in your sails.
