April Inspiration

by Hilary Gauntt on April 8, 2012

Spring has arrived in all it’s glory, but I find myself lacking the euphoria that  should come with this time of year. Here are some words of wisdom that helped me get things in better perspective.  Please send us any quotes that have helped you put one foot in front of the other, and we will gratefully share them. Wishing you joyous and rejuvenating Easter and Passover celebrations!

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”  – Dr. Seuss

“Was he still hovering about the house at home, the essence of himself, and were I there would I perceive his presence? I fought off the mighty yearning to go in search of him, wherever he was. For surely he was looking for me,too.  We were ill at ease, always, when apart. But where are the pathways?” – Pearl S. Buck

“It isn’t about being strong and pretending everything is okay; it’s about finding joy where you can.”  – Rashida Jones

“Whoever survives a test, whatever it may be, must tell the story. That is his duty.” – Elie Wiesel

“Grief is a most peculiar thing; we are so helpless in the face of it.  It’s like a window that will simply open of it’s own accord.  The room grows cold and we can do nothing but shiver.  But it opens a little less each time, and a little less; and one day we wonder what has become of it.”  – Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden

“Deep peace of the running wave to you.

Deep peace of the flowing air to you.

Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.

Deep peace of the shining stars to you.

Deep peace of the gentle night to you.

Moon and stars pour their healing light on you.

Deep peace of Christ,

of Christ the light of the world to you.

Deep peace of Christ to you.”

– Ancient Gaelic poem
